Policies and Procedures

Bel-Air International, located in the San Francisco Bay area, is an ideal training environment for people preparing for a career in aviation. We are an FAA approved school qualified to train candidates under Part-141 of the Federal Aviation Regulations. School Certificate Number: B7QS601K. We specialize in accelerated professional flight training, private through ATP, (Airline Transport Pilot License) for career minded individuals who want high quality training at affordable prices. Our flight school uses the Jeppesen/Sanderson training program.

Enrollment Agreement
Before beginning training, each student is provided with a written enrollment agreement. This agreement specifies the selected training course or course combination package, the method of payment, and the terms and conditions of enrollment. Scheduling, cancellation policy, termination, insurance coverage, school and student liability, refunds, and safety rules and procedures of the school. This is an important document and is designed to prevent misunderstandings between the student and school.

Enrollment Fee for Domestic Students
There is an enrollment fee of $150.00 per course and a fee of $45 per month for insurance. For those who fly less frequently, we offer non-enrollment rates for an additional $15.00 per hour above the posted hourly rates (applies for aircraft and instructor). After paying the enrollment fee, all instruction (flight and ground) is $48.00/hour.

Admission Fee for International Students
There is an admission fee of $500.00 and a fee of $100 for the I-20 processing. There is no deposit required towards flight training.

Refunds
Students requesting a refund must make the request in writing to Bel-Air International. A student with a financial sponsor is not entitled to refund prior to course completion without a letter or communiqué from their sponsor requesting a refund and providing instructions for disbursement. Any refund due will be paid to the student in 30 days.

Scheduling
All flight training is by appointment and given on a one on one basis. Bel-Air is open for training seven days a week. To ensure you have a convenient starting date, please allow at least 2 weeks advance notice of your planned start date.

Credit for Prior Flying
Students with prior flight experience, or who have already passed a FAA written exam are eligible for course credit, which can reduce the total time required to complete the course, course cost or both. If you have any flight experience or hold a pilot certificate please provide a detailed description to us and we can then provide you with a new estimated course price. The actual credit received will be determined by an evaluation by our Chief Flight Instructor.

Conversion of Foreign Pilot Certificates
Applicants holding a foreign private pilot license who wish to train here at Bel-Air International must first convert their license to a U.S. FAA PPL certificate. This process takes about 6 to 8 weeks for the FAA to verify the flight training and flight hours from your country. Please visit the FAA's website using the following link which provides instructions as well as the form that needs to filled out for a license conversion:
